Andy Downton

Andy Downton is a respected Gloucestershire businessman who is best associated with C.M Downton Ltd, one of the UK’s leading  logistics firms. Beginning as a small family operation in 1955, Andy, alongside his brothers Richard and John, transformed the operation from a localised haulage operation to to a logistics giant. It’s exponential growth saw the business attract international recognition, and it was subsequently bought by a Hong Kong based private equity firm in 2018 for 75 million.

Whilst now semi retired Andy is still keen to invest in young entrepreneurs and SW businesses. Andy is happiest watching Gloucester Rugby and enjoying good food and wine with friends and family.

James Donaldson

James has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years and is the proud co-owner of the successful Bristol Based company, Woodson Electrical. Woodson Electrical come highly recommended and work across the South West and beyond. James has vast experience working on residential and commercial builds, collaborating with bespoke contractors to deliver projects to a high standard.

In his spare time, James enjoys playing golf and surfing in Cornwall.

As lifelong friends, Sammi and James hold season tickets for Bristol City Football Club, where they sit in the stands together.

Sammi Booz

Sammi is the founder of The House Design and Build, a leading architecture practice based in Bristol.

After graduating in 2010, he gained valuable international experience working across Sydney,
Melbourne, and London, contributing to landmark projects such as Kensington Row and One Tower Bridge.

In 2017, Sammi returned to the South West with a clear vision: to work closely with clients,
transforming residential and commercial spaces through thoughtful, contemporary design. Over the past 8 years, The House Design and Build has grown into one of Bristol’s most respected
architectural firms, known for its client-focused approach and high-quality results.

When he’s not designing homes, Sammi enjoys mountain biking around Bristol, cheering on Bristol City at Ashton Gate, and spending quality time with his family.
